This September The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City welcomed a brand new cast member – Monica Garcia. As Monica adjusts to life on the Bravo show, her mom, Linda, is also appearing on RHOSLC. The two have had some awkward encounters during the series so far and now Monica’s mom is suggesting the two go to therapy.
Across all of the Real Housewives shows, the cast members’ family dynamics often play out on screen. RHOSLC is notoriously known for its dramatic storylines – remember Heather Gay’s mysterious black eye? Now, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans are weighing in on Monica and her mom’s relationship.
Linda on RHOSLC
During The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 4 episode 10, Monica’s mom makes a “peace offering” and asks her to go to therapy with her.
Linda arrives on Monica’s driveway with her car and says: “I come bearing gifts.”
Monica explains that the car “isn’t a gift,” adding: “I can’t do this anymore. I can’t live with when you get upset or mad that you are just going to come and take my car from me.”
The Bravo star’s mom responds by saying that she “won’t do it anymore,” adding: “I clearly have some skills to learn.”
Linda asks to go to therapy
Standing on Monica’s driveway, Linda explains that she wants to go to therapy with her daughter.
She adds: “I think it would be so good for us.”
Linda was keen to “get back on track,” but Monica asked to “think about” because the two had gone to therapy in the past.
The RHOSLC star’s mother adds: “The cycle of dysfunction in our family goes back generations, right? You and I can be the ones to break it.”
Speaking of the times she and her mom went to therapy in the past, Monica said that she didn’t think it worked before.
Their relationship doesn’t seem to have been repaired at the time of writing. Speaking to Housewives Nightcap at BravoCon, Monica said she and her mother “haven’t really spoken since we wrapped filming.”

Before the “car kidnapping” episode, Monica sat down with Heather Gay to talk about her “volatile” relationship with her mother.
Reflecting on her childhood, she said through tears: “When I turned 12, my mom, she decided that she wanted to chase her dream so she dropped me off with a family in Pennslyvania and went and lived in New York.”
Single mom Monica added: “My dad left me when I was four, and then my mom left me so I have like major, major abandonment issues because of that.”
During episode 6, the reality TV star touched on her upbringing again, saying that she had “some resentment” towards her mother.
